The looks are awesome and it works great!
But is there a way to change the size of the showed pictures? I personally find them slightly too small.

I've already tried to solve it by adding an image with a larger size, but it dind't work (inside 'albuminfo.xml'). So I guess something inside Flash needs to be changed?

Thanks! :)

When I went to look at the preview, it's a nice basic template, but there seems to be a lag issue and a pixelated border distortion.

Good job :)

Was just wondering how I would apply this to a webpage that hasnt yet been published? for example, I want to link one of the thumbnails to..

file:///E:/A-Level/Year%2013/ICT/Unit%2014/Rockstar/Downloads.html

How would I go about it? (This is just for a school project)

I know how to apply a link to the thumbnails like Google, but when I add the url (as above) It doesnt seem to work, any guidance? much appreciated :)

Well done once again!

Nice Work,

Is there any way of smoothing the distorted album covers. Im using Icons as opposed to photos and when they distort they look quite ropey.

Any help would be appreciated

Awesome :D, but I wonder why my Flash programm (MX 2004 v.7) is unable to open .fla document. Do you have any idea? It says "Unexpected file format".

Anyway, this one goes :+fav:

Thanks!

Yes, MX 2004 is from... you know, 2004 :P this piece of art requires at lest flash 8. you should defiantly update, the current version of adobe flash is cs 4 and it has like a million improvements.

btw, thanks for the fav! :D

It's a too old version of flash. I think you might need CS3 or later

Sebastien, I think that's only a matter of Dephts. If you look at Richard code, the depths and depths changes between the pictures (sorry for my poor english, I'm from Argentine).

I'm not at my desktop, but if my memory doesn't fail me, the depth range was between 980 and 1100. Make a simple removeclip between that depths and it may work.

Hi Parker...
from Argentine? World is small!

I tried to use removeMovieClip function for each clip of the scene having a name starting with :
"_mask" or "art" or "reflection"

it looks working BUT :(
- Reflections are still here
- When I try to create a new gallery... nothing is displyed

I'll keep you posted if I can figure what's happening :)

Thks

Wao, this is great... just great!
Parker, you're right, it is taking a lot of CPU (80% on my computer), but I have also been able to open ~10 times the swf (in //) and it is working fine for me! :-)

Richard, may I have 1 question?
How can I build a function to delete all the items of the gallerie... I tried several functions using removeMovieClip but none worked fine!
Indeed, this would be great to have a parameter (either using a button or a LocalConnection variable) to select a gallery!

Thanks a lot and sorry for my english... I'm french!

Richard, your work it's amazing. It was not only nicely done, but also you stated as most key variables as posible to play with the movie as much as you like.

I've only one "but"... and it's not an easy one. The movie takes a lot of processing. In almost every PC I played on, it takes almost 50 or 60% of the resources. Not a thing to worry if you're gonna play it standalone, but when you want to integrate it besides another flash movie... well, let's just say that everything comes to a very low framerate.

If you allow me, playing with the distance between CD's (shelveCDSpacing var) I notice that the many shelves it shows, the most processing it takes. So, it makes me thinks that between the process of distorting the covers it must be a recurring script.

Maybe if you could make easer for me to find it, I could help you to make it less CPU intensive.

Thank you in advance. Great work you have here.

thanks for those nice words!

You are right! It it very cpu intensive. But this is written in Actionscript 2, which is a deadlanguage. Actionscript 3 is 100 times faster and has many new features. When i've got time, im gonna rewrite this into actionscript 3. If you want, you can help me, as you seem to have some nice skills in flash ;)

Richard,

First and foremost great job on modifying this viewer. I have a quick question for you. I am trying to make it a little larger so I can use it to showcase my photos that I take. I have everything working except that the right side second album picture doesn't work right and shows a visual error (like flickering) what do you think is causing this? The html can be viewed here. [link] the .fla file is here [link]

Great work!!
I am working on modifying a site where another developer used this component and there is an issue I cannot figure out.
Still in beta:
[link]

Wait about 30 seconds for the 3 sections to autoplay, then the scroller will appear again.
Scroll to the right and when image 9 & 10 load at the far right... they flash like they are in a loop.

Any clues?

Thanks,
TG

This is great! Just, is there a way to change the action script so that only One click is required to open a URL, and not a double-click? Also, is there a way to set the window size of the newly opened window? Again, great work!

1. Yes there are. Just look in the actions and you will see how it works.
2. Just do a simple popup javascript and call that function when you click a "pic"

Let me know if you get stuck.

Thanks. I tried replacing all instances of "doubleclick" with "singleclick" or just "click." Neither was effective. Not sure if this is what I needed to do.
